As part of a newly introduced donation campaign, DATA AHEAD employees have taken responsibility and foregone their daily wage in favor of non-profit organizations. This year, the important work of „Hilfe für Frauen in Not e.V.“ and „Doctors Without Borders“ (Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V.) are supported with a sum of 500 € each.
„The willingness of our employees to assume social responsibility and to support a local and an international aid organization makes me very proud.“ explains Jörg Wolter, CEO of DATA AHEAD.
About the organizations
The association „Hilfe für Frauen in Not e.V.“ was founded in 1977 and it is the sponsor of the Nuremberg women’s shelter and counselling center. There are places for around 20-22 women and their children in the shelter. The counselling center is available for women who do not want to live in the shelter but still need support. In addition, the association has set itself the goal of contributing to reducing violence through targeted public relations work. With the public support of the city of Nuremberg and the Bavarian Ministry of Social Affairs, the work of the non-profit organization is financially secured. The association relies on donations for all necessary investments, replacement purchases and special needs concerning the living and working conditions of its residents and their children.
The German section of Doctors Without Borders (Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V.) was founded in 1993 as a non-profit organization. As part of the international network, it pursues the goal of providing medical help to people in need regardless of their ethnic origin, religious or political convictions and at the same time to publicly draw attention to their situation. The German section is also part of the Operational Center Amsterdam (OCA). This is one of five operational centers in which the sections of the international network work together. The German section participates in the relief efforts of the network in a variety of ways. It hires qualified staff, raises donations and other funds and informs the public about the organization’s activities. In addition, the section is responsible for project support in ten countries.
